“Falling” into what we manifest
As a local resident, I wouldn't normally be driving back to Two Harbors from the North Shore on a Saturday evening, but last weekend I spent the day at Split Rock Lighthouse as their exhibiting artist. It was a lovely day of sharing my art and the printmaking process with many park visitors. Kids and "grown-ups" alike, enjoyed making a block print from one of my designs and I met so many wonderful people (some of whom are reading this email now).
As always, I am grateful for such opportunities to share my work and meet new art enthusiasts. That said, I had completely forgotten about how congested the normally short drive home might be—many cars re-routed onto the backroads (because we now have GPS to tell us how to get around) but a terrible accident on one of those roads caused us all to be diverted back to the expressway.
The sky darkened and the moon rose as I watched white headlights strung out around the bend and up the hill behind me, red tail lights in a long line ahead of me. I turned on an audible book called "Manifest" and was grateful that I had a full tank of gas. I took a couple long breaths and sat back in my seat.
Sometimes (as this wonderful book, Manifest, points out) you just have to be patient. And then, often in a flurry (as I have been experiencing) things happen quickly. My art is in the State Park, I was accepted for a Legacy Grant, (for which I will present a poetry and art program at many libraries in the Arrowhead Regional Library System) and I will be doing a poetry program at Community Partners for Seniors.
I'm trying to visualize what's next! A new home and studio space, another poetry book, a new or expanded art series? I'm feeling embraced by the Universe, even though many things are still up in the air. In the meantime, we did find a more appropriate place for us to rent until we have a new opportunity-a small single level house with a garage for both of our cars through the winter.
I hope that you are able to manifest the things that you desire in your life too. So much is possible when we set aside our doubts and disbelief.
